In September 2018, I quit my job at a public relations agency to pursue freelance work in the gig economy. Looking back at that time, I was a bundle of emotions – confident, scared and excited to see what the future had in store for me. A year later, I can say that the grass is greener on the other side. By no means do I have it all figured out, but I can say with certainty that quitting my full-time job in a traditional office setting to pursue freelance work was one of the best decisions of my life.
I began pondering the idea of leaving my job a few months before doing so. My sister was reading a self-improvement book and posted a photo of the cover on social media. Quickly scrolling through my feed, I misread the title and thought the book was called Posted in Uncategorized
